Thanked: 375Pawn Stars & Safety Razor
Did anyone catch the ABC (?) Gillette OC Razor that a guy came in and wanted to pawn for 2k? I don't know if this was a repeat show or new. The guy was saying it belonged to a royal, but could not prove it. Just thought I'd share, thought it was interesting.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for that one. I watch the shop all the time.

I saw that. He said it belonged to the Saudi King or something. No proof. They told him it was not worth anything! HA!
It WAS a gold Gillette in the box!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

I recall that episode as well . . . what was the P.T. Barnum line . . . A sucker born every minute?
Any day on this side of the flowers is a good day!

To collectors, wild tales of an item's history are just that. There was a wristwatch some time back that someone had engraved with a purported message from Marilyn Monroe to John Kennedy. Without ironclad provenance, a tale like that would be very hard to swallow.

I did see the one where they paid > 100$ for a generic solingen razor with white plastic scales in ok condition. That was a bit of a miss.
Usually they know their stuff, or know someone who does.
It's interesting what comes through their door. That's the reason I like watching pawn stars.
Usually, things with unlikely stories turn out bogus, but sometimes they hit gold.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day
