I am not an expert on sharpness tests, but I find that many shavers that hone their own and other shaver's razors say the "shave test" is the only reliable test. I primarily use Feather DE blades. I've tried many others and for me most can't cut the beard on my chin without pulling (some just won't cut it at all) even brand new. The Feather is the only DE blade that reliably smoothly cuts my beard for as many as 4 shaves with the same blade. I think the same would hold true in evaluating straights.
The tale is doon, and God save al the rowte!
