Thanked: 11Yep, that's what I did as well assuming the closer the angle, the less aggressiveness aka irritations. The thing is, if the blade comes to encounter the lines of the neck as you say, and bends, it cuts the skin. I do with as open an angle as possible. Allowing very little blade to enter in contact with my skin, if at all (against the grain, the hair will come before you need to enter in contact with the skin). With a second pass against the grain (third pass, the first being with the grain), you can get to have the blade touch the skin : the hair will be short enough not to drag the edge down.

Thanked: 11Also, I forgot to mention, but one thing that has greatly improved my shaves, is the "j-hook" as people call it. Especially on the trouble spots, it works like magic!
