Thanked: 0Question about a SEGAL double edge razor
My wife has always told me that I could not do anything in moderation and the worst part is that she is right. About a month ago I started using my late father in law's Gillette razor and once again fell in love with the idea of classic wet shaving. Well, this new found interest in double edge shaving led to the trips to the local antique and collectable shops in the area. I have found about 7 or eight different Gillette razors, five Gem razors and one that I had not heard about before. The razor is a SEGAL and if is different that when you turn the knob on the bottom the center post rises and is attached to the top which hinges and lies against the center post when fully extended. I intend to attempt to get some information on this razor but anything that the people here could tell me would be most appreciated.

Thanked: 375I had a Segal like you describe. They take a specific blade, regular DE blades won't fit unless modified. I never modified a DE blade to use it, so IMO it's just a collectible unless you can find Segal blades on ebay.
