I used the Silver Blue's for the first time last night and got a great shave. They are super sharp AND smooth. I'll be buying more of them for sure.
There is always a solution, whether it's already present or if you have to make it.

Gillette Silver Blues are actually my favorite blade right now on the DE. Sharp enough to cut close without irritating or nicking my skin. It was funny because I used then straight out starting DE shaving when I had a sampler pack, and they happened to be my best brand. After rotating through the rest of my sample pack I went back to my original choice and never went back.

I am just starting to rotate the Russians so I can not verify but this but I have heard there is little difference in the St. Petersburg blades. Several come from the same factory. Gillette silver blue, Gillette 7 0'clock yellow, Gillette 7 o'clock green (there is also a green package that come from Indian this is the super stainless one), Perma sharp, Astra, and the Iridium blades. I may have missed one. There are differences in where the blades are marketed. So I am not sure if some are the same blade just marketed differently for different regions. So far the Astra and the 7 o'clock green have been very close for me. Silver blue and Iridium is up next.

I did find very little difference in the Israeli blades made in the same factory. The Personna Red (UK packaging) and the Crystal super platinum were pretty close. I really could not tell any difference other than the labeling.

I have an order of a Rapira sampler hopefully coming soon from Russia. I ordered it on ebay and the Russian post takes a while. I think these are made in a different factory.

Which Astra's do you use the Astra Superior Platinum (Green) or the Astra Superior Stainless (Blue)? The Astra blades are cousins to the Gillette Blue blades they are both manufactured at the same factory in St. Petersburg, Russia.

I like the Silver Blues. The St Petersburg blades do feel pretty similar to me. Astra SP's are about 1/3 the price of most of their others so you may want to try them too. I think I can feel a bit of a difference though. The more expensive ones feel smoother and maybe just a bit sharper.
