Thanked: 0Daily Shaves
I work a job where I'm required to be clean shaven every day. I currently shave with a EJ89 is this a good razor to shave daily or does anyone recommend a different razor?

That's a good razor, I too have one. My answer to you is, as long as you like it and shaves good for you, then that's all you need. You might also want to try experimenting with different blades, if you haven't already.

Lchap, I concur with my friend Mike. Your Edwin Jagger is an excellent razor. I have several Edwin Jaggers and love them all. Of course, there are many other brands of double edge razors. Still, yours is in the top tier. And, yes, try to experiment with different blades. Order a sampler.

Thanked: 23I have the same razor, and I think it is a good choice. My initial issues with DE shaving were operator driven. The equipment is fine. My expectations have settled to the objective of beard reduction done with a light hand...much like the Hippocratic Oath..."First do no harm." I use WalMart Wilkinson Sword blades. It is about separating whiskers from your face. My face is smooth and no longer appears that I have pavement burn. You will be fine, just keep a gentle touch.

Thanked: 12I started with straights, and have migrated to DEs for my weekday shaves. The straights are kept for weekends when I can take the time to take my time.
If the EJ89 works well for you, don't fix what ain't broke. At some point you will want to try new razors just out of curiosity, and that's natural. I would look at razors that are different than yours -- open combed, more aggressive, what have you.
As others have suggested, blade samplers are an easy thing to try out. bullgoose shaving has some good deals on them (not affiliated, other than satisfied customer).
I even find the Walmart Wilkinson Swords shave passably well as every day blades. Enjoy!

Thanked: 0Thanks everyone I just finish shaving I tried Astra blades with TOBS sandalwood like this cream has a very good lubrication for my face. I got more sample blades I'm going to try, as for shaving cream I have Proraso sandalwood and got Tabac in a tube in yesterday. I think TOBS is my favorite going to try other scents.

The EJ DE89 is a darn good razor. That's all I got to say about that.
