Thanked: 0Clarification of the DE89...
I just received this from Edwin Jagger regarding the DE89, DE89bl and DE89lbl.......
Dear Paul
Thank you for your email. The only difference between the razors you have enquired about is the handle finish or the addition of blades – as per comments below. DE8 is the style number but the code extension describes the handle finish.
· DE89 – this razor has a plain but bright finish chrome plated handle
· DE89LBL this razor has a lined chrome plated handle and includes a pack of 5 blades
· DE89L this razor has a lined chrome plated handle but the lack of BL at the end of the code suggests it has no blades in the pack however, Edwin Jagger does not ship any of these razors without blades now so it is an old code.
The reason for including blades is that when someone purchases a razor for themselves or as a gift, they generally want to be able to use the razor soon after. The lack of blades with some razors was a real disadvantage so we took the decision to ship a pack of 5 blades FREE with every razor.
As far as recommending a retailer you can’t go wrong with Amazon.com. Some other e-tailers may be offering free shipping or some other tempter. Even though we advise retailers of the MRSP we cannot dictate it so we not aware of the all the selling prices in US.
Kind regards
Sally Wood

I believe all of the current EJ razors, (86,87,89,Chatsworth, etc) are all the same head with different handles.

Thanked: 1195Interesting. I was under the impression that the 89BA series was a redesign that shifted the head/handle balance when compared to the original 89? I seem to recall hearing that when the BA first came out.
Or are we talking about something completely different?

It sounds like you're aware of something I wasn't. Which ones have the new head?
