Released from Hospital Today
Not only do the stitches hurt but I had to go through a psychiatric exam to prove that this was not a suicide attempt.......................
I used my new Joris (bone-handled, gold-plated) razor on Saturday. To minimize the aggressive exposure I used a new Feather Blade. I lathered with my usual Dial soap and proceeded to shave. I did a 4 pass shave. Upon rinsing with cold water I started to feel light-headed and notice a pool of blood in the sink. 12 towels and 3 alum blocks later the bleeding was down to a gush from a torrent.
The bad news is that I went from looking like George Clooney to Curious George. The good news is that I don't need to shave for the next 30 days.
The razor should have come with the following warning: THERE WILL BE BLOOD
Can't wait to try a straight razor next...........................................

Thanked: 270I had a somewhat easier learning curve...only needed four stitches when I started. I was so focused on technique I wasn't paying attention to anything else and sliced my thumb switching hands. The weird thing about it was the doctor laughing at me when he heard what happened while applying the needle and thread.

I know a guy who sliced his face so bad shaving, when he goes into a bikers bar all the patrons step aside.

Thanked: 270I remember seeing the villain in a Dick Tracy movie named SplitFace. I guess he got careless with a straight.

Thanked: 67Wow! The first thing you noticed was a pool of blood? Not a kind of biting, slicing sensation in your skin? Cos that's what I've felt when I've given myself (minor) cuts. I usually stop about that point.
