Thanked: 1Shavette Question?
I've noticed that if i shave with my dovo shavette or a safety razor I get speckles of blood below my jaw which doesn't happen if I use a straight. This happens with a fresh blade regardless of the brand of blade. Just wondering if anyone could have any ideas of what exactly I'm doing wrong?

Thanked: 4942Probably a little too much pressure with the shavette. Also, try to pull up the skin at the jawline up toward the cheeks and see if that helps.
Have fun.

+1 to Lynn's advice. It's the only way I can get an irritation free shave on the neck just below the jaw line.

I have a similar thing with a fresh blade. A fresh DE is just exceeeedingly shape, and the skin below the neck line exceedingly soft - though the hair itself is as tough as chin hair, not as soft as neck hair - well for me anyway.
You'll almost never get blood spots going with the grain, so have a check how the grains running and try to pass with it.
I've tried all different directions and passes to get it the best. In the end I found a really light pass and a re-lather and another really light pass better than a big scrape. A new blade on a shavette is a curse until the second day and by the 6th odd day it's a curse again whatever you do.

Thanked: 96Watch Lynn's video on shaving. He hits the nail on the head stretching the neck skin. I to have a lot more neck then I had 20 years ago so stretching is a must with any razor.
