Just got my first shavette!
So I've been a DE razor guy for awhile and I decided to try something a little different. Today I bought a Dovo surgical steel shavette. It looks so clean! I can't wait to try it out. Any recommendations on blades and where to get them? Came with just regular DE blades which I thought was weird. Thanks guys,
B

Just got my first shavette!
The Dovo shavette uses half a DE blade. You break them in half before inserting Into the holder. Each Edge of the DE blade is a blade for the shavette. Get blades wherever you have been buying your DE blades. Good luck.

Welcome to it!
Just as with your DE you may want to sample several varieties of blades to find which one your face likes best.
Once I picked up the shavette there was no going back, you also have a few experienced members in your neck of the woods if the need arises.
Let us know how the transition goes for you.

Thanked: 1I use one as well and would recommend getting the green insert and using those blades. They are "Personna Hair Shaper Blades" and they come in 5 blade packs, pretty cheap, WAY cheaper then blades for Mach 3s and Fusions, but the exact price escapes me, I bought 4 packs of them several months ago. But the blades are longer, thicker, and are suppose to be closer to a genuine straight razor. But if you are just starting with any sort of straight razor, you may want to start with the blades talked about above.

I just purchased the same thing on e-Bay. Can't wait to get it. Switched from the multi-blades to a safety razor about a couple of months ago and love it. I think I'd like to get in to the straight razor thing, so that's why I purchased a shavette. Also, I opted for the Dovo just in case I like it. It's supposed to be a quality shavette, unlike so many of those others on e-Bay.

Thanked: 8Chiming in late here: just like with a DE, try different blades.
I've recently tried a pack of Bluebirds and been ecstatic. They've been great in my shavette.
