Shavette Home Run!
Haven't used my shavette in a while. Over the last few months I have been concentrating on my straights an getting the technique down. Today I came to the shavette in my rotation an instead of passing by it to use a straight I grabbed it. Full 3 pass shave with no nicks cuts or burn. First time I have accomplished this with the shavette. I'm sure a few months of straights has helped a lot. Still feels good to get it right. Now if only the hair would grow faster.

Had exactly the same experience after about two years of using only a straight. I'd say the shavette will be my to-go tool when traveling or when I don't have time for stropping my straight.

Yeah I can see it getting more use now. Very nice enjoyable shave. Actually has me thinking of buying a much nicer shavette to add to collection. I like the feather dx. Also for the same kind price range there is the Don Jae which are just stunning!

Thanked: 41Yep, while I love my traditional straights, it's hard to beat a Feather or KAI for a travel razor! And, they're a nice occasional change of pace at home as well!

Thanked: 171Will be heading out Sunday on a one week cruise and plan on taking my Feather DX along.
This should help me put everything in a single carry-on bag.

Normally I use a straight but yesterday i treated myself and a good friend to a head shave and Royal Shave at AOS( his 70th Bday). so while i was in the chair my friend bought me a shavette can't wait to try it and i think it should do well for traveling.

Edwin just know if its the first time you have used one they act very different then regular straights. They don't tend to be very forgiving to mistakes. I still use them in rotation because they do a great job.

RollinCoal I'll remember that and hopefully add the shavette to the rotation.
