Thanked: 21I have a feather ss straight handle. I really like it. Professional blades. Going at it for about 2-3 weeks now. Amazing how muscle memory sets in. My first shave was about 25 min. Yesterday I had my shave done in under 5 min. The blades are fantastic as long as you dry your razor well. They seem to get best results at shave 2-6...at least for me. Highly recommend the feather ss.

The shaves per blade will steadily increase if your experience follows most of us.
I use a Feather DX folding mostly when I am working remote and can stash the kit on site (the Feather and its variants are not carry-on items...)
My post shave routine is a hot water rinse followed by a dunk in a container of alcohol - preferably 91%.
Once I stopped removing the blade each time to clean/dry the blade life went from 5-6 to 17-21 shaves in short order.
And yes, the first 1-2 shaves can be "weepy" - all the more reason to try to get more shaves per blade.
And they show up on the classifieds from time to time.
