Feather SS an a great member of SRP
I want to start out by saying thank you to all the mentors an senior members on this great forum. I have been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of help from several of you, an it has greatly helped me with learning to shave with straights. Your advice an generosity is much appreciated.
So I had been interested in the feather system after getting some killer shaves with my cheaper shavette. Member MJC an I started talking an he said he would let me borrow one of his SS to give it a shot. The package arrived an to my surprise not only was it a SS but a CJB japanese style, Three different injector style blade kits an several DE blades. WOW! Way beyond what I was expecting. So a huge thank you to Mark! I have spent the last two weeks only using the SS with proguard blade. First I have to say this is way more than a "shavette"! Second off I can honestly say I have pulled off some of the best shaves of my life with this system. WICKED SHARP! I am sold on the system. It will be my new travel set up for sure. No it doesn't have the same nostalgia feel as using my old straights, but the shave is so good I am ok with that. Going to work my way through the other blades an CJB for comparison. I don't see how the shaves could get any better. One more time thank you MJC and all the members here that help out the newbies."The black smoke is just lost power"

Yes walter that we do. Craig I was actually really close to pulling the trigger on the feather system when I bought that WB from you. I still plan on buying one. I was going to bite the bullet before marks offer an if I didn't like it then flip it for what I could get out of it. Now that I have had the chance to try the SS an the CJB I can say I really like the shave an low maintenance they offer. If I break the cost of the system down to the longevity of the product it makes it more acceptable. Or so I am telling myself.

Thanked: 375I had the SS Kamisori style Feather and liked it, but felt I would like their folding offering better so I bought one of those, fortunately it was from a Barber I've come to know and she gave me deal at her cost. The non folder has since found a new home and I rarely use the folder but will say again that they are very nice. If you don't hone it's a nice option, still not a real straight but pretty darn close. Glad you had the chance to borrow one before you bought RollinCoal69 members here always amaze me with their generosity!

Couldn't agree more trimmy. I am seriously amazed by the members here. Always friendly an there to help. I have to say I am with you in the matter of liking the folding SS better than the kamisori. I am glad I tried it. I really like the capabilities for trimming of my goatee though. Still not my favorite style. The ease of use an maintenance is a huge plus in my book for the feathers. An there is no dispute over the shave quality IMO.
