Thanked: 8Just about getting it right
Just thought I would share with you guys my Shavette story to date.
I started using DE's a few months ago and got hooked on traditional wet shaving. I mastered the DE and decided to move up to the shavette on route to a full blown straight razor. I started with a half blade DE type shavette, this was a blood bath and I decide to go back to the DE's and never again venture near a shavette. After my face healed I thought hell lets give it another go, and this time I decided to spend a little more money and purchased a CJB. I faired a little better still lots of blood but when it did go right the shave was very good which motivated me to press on. I decided to get scales put on the CJB and this did improve things for me. I watched some more video's and my skills improved further, also I got good advise from members here such as Obie who gave me some great tips. Deciding this was the way to go I got myself a Feather Artist SS super bit of kit. Anyway to bring you up to date the last week or so things have fallen in to place and I have been getting really good nik free shaves for the most part that I would class as DFS and the odd BBS. It has taken about 40 shaves to get to this stage, and I can use both hands know. I am glad I stuck with it, the end results are well worth the time and effort.
My thanks to all you guys who helped with your kind advise and tips.

Nice job sticking with it. It does become second nature after a few shaves. Ok quite a few shaves

Lols, I was the same when I first started, looked like I had been in a knife fight everyday for a month, lol but like you say eventually it all falls into place, still get the occasional nick now and again but par for the course every now and again.
