    This is ^^^^
Also when using pre-shave products, go lightly. Especially oils. Wet your face and apply only a few drops of pre-shave oil massaged around. I also found that certain pre-shave products would degrade my lather (YMMV and all that).

Good prep, good lather and good angle. If you are using an overly aggressive angle, the blade will want to grab. The blade should be almost flat on your face. If its too flat it wont really shave close. You want to have the razor as flat as it can be while still removing hair efficiently. If it's not flat enough the blade will cause irritation and want to grab. There's a sweet spot. Once you find it your shaves will improve.

Well the nice thing about shavettes and DE's is that you can isolate more variables if you run into trouble since most likely your blade is sharp enough and your equipment is solid... Like BeJay said, focus on the techniques. I personally find the biggest determining factor in the quality of my disposable blade shaves is the prep; hydrate those whiskers!
