    Default pearson in need

I know that its rude to ask for handouts but if any one out there has a shavette that they dont use or do not like very much and are looking to donate it here is a good home. Also I was wo dering if any one could descride the differances in feel between a streight and a shavette.

Will do on the location. Thanks for the description. And what do you mean by "shorty wedge"?

A shorty wedge to me is a shortened/cutdown blade from the full 3" blade face to about 2" long
and due to the ridgid feel of the blade the feed back is more like a wedge than a full hollow.
but the shavete is a lot lighter than a wedge

A shavette will feel very light and VERY sharp as compared to a proper straight.
The blade length, on a DE style, is much shorter and the corners of the blade are unforgiving.

I've not used a shorty wedge (nor a wedge) but I notice that the blade 'feel', or flex, is highly dependant on the blade used. A Feather blade feels much more flexible, as it's thinner, than an Astra blade. I would actually say the feel of the shavette is closer to a hollow blade as it doesn't have a lot of mass behind it but rigidity would be up to the blade and exposure.

Using a shavette is very rewarding once you have technique down.

If you have a local Sally's supply: they sometimes have some shavettes. I've heard of a few people using them though I've no experience myself. I've got a Parker SR1 that I enjoy.
