Default Equinox Professional Barber Straight Edge Razor

I just bought this new type shavette called Equinox Professional Barber Straight Edge Razor. It uses DE blades. Feels like you're using a regular straight razor. It gave me a shave so smooth I couldn't believe it. I thought my C mon blackie and my Shumates were the smoothest but even with the blades that come with it you can't even compare the difference. I have over 40 straights in my collection and tried them all. I won't quit using straights but for a quick smooth close shave you can't beat it. And the best part is you use it just like a regular straight so its very easy to use unlike a regular shavette. I can't wait to try it with a feather DE blade.

I might be missing something here but aren't most shavettes used like a "regular straight razor"

Most shavettes are very light and use single edge blades. If you google the one I used and look at the pictures you will see what I mean. Most Shavettes are harder to use and are not forgiving like a regular straight but this one is different.

a feather is not light so there, , but from experience my razors are sharp as any thing you put in a shavette, so I don't find any difference in the shave except the harshness that goes away after a shave or two ,,

I said most shavettes are lighter than a straight, not all. Google this- Equinox Professional Barber Straight Edge Razor Then click on amazon.com, its the second one from the top that says New!Equinox Professional Barber Straight Edge Razor Look at the pictures of it. It takes DE blades not single so you can put any DE blade in it you want. If you can hone your razors as sharp as a Feather DE blade more power to you. Most people can't. It's a great shaver for the beginner to use to get used to the technique of shaving with a straight without spending hardly any money. And its very forgiving unlike most shavettes.

No edhewitt, its the one on amazon that says "New!Equinox Professional Barber Straight Edge Razor" and comes with 10 blades. The one you have a pic of is the old single edge one.

Unless the blades are bigger than a standard half D/E blade it looks pretty much exactly like the bluebeards revenge or the generics of it from a point of view of the blade holding section admittedly the scales are different.

Out of interest how many other shavettes have you used?

I'm in love with my Feather DX. Just wish I waited and got the Teak Wood handle version. You easily over do it with this razor. One swipe is all it takes whereas traditional straights will take extra passes without going too deep. For me anyways.
