Thanked: 01st shave
Well my 1st shave with my Merkur 34c went really well. I was really surprised after all of the reading I did prior to using a DE how easy it was to get one of the closet shaves I have ever experienced. Not nearly the learning curve I had expected, I really am wondering if I even need to try the other blades I bought in the sample pack, just cant see it getting much better than the Merkur blade that came with the razor.

Thanked: 580Part of the fun is trying different blades, soaps, brushes and razors, to me anyway. Sounds like you did good on your first attempt.

Thanked: 375Definitely try the other blades, you may be surprised or disappointed in the differences. My personal favorite blades are Astra and Feather

My wife has gone through one of those sample packs of blades in her Futur and still can't decide which one is best. It seems some blades are better suited for thighs and others calf and knee. She will not get a second Futur for those reasons.
Will have to get her another sample pack and let the process start over.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.
