Thanked: 171Changing a Feather AC blade, you may find that the first 1-2 shaves are harsher than the following ones and that you may need to take extra care with a new blade.

Try using the side of a wine cork, and making one "slice" drawing the blade from back to front/pulling it across.
Known as "corking the blade" there are some who do this with the Feather DE Blades when they are starting out.
You can add a slice if one is not enough.
This will shorten the service life of the blade, and once you get a few dozen shaves in you will not need to do this and your blade life will get much longer.
That way you can get your 10+ years out of your 10 boxes of blades...Support Movember!
