    Changing a Feather AC blade, you may find that the first 1-2 shaves are harsher than the following ones and that you may need to take extra care with a new blade.

    Yes, I found out the hard way LOL
    I swiped it x5 times on a toliet roll, don't know if it really helps but gives me slightly more confidence. I will continue to do this on fresh blades while learning.

    Try using the side of a wine cork, and making one "slice" drawing the blade from back to front/pulling it across.
    Known as "corking the blade" there are some who do this with the Feather DE Blades when they are starting out.
    You can add a slice if one is not enough.
    This will shorten the service life of the blade, and once you get a few dozen shaves in you will not need to do this and your blade life will get much longer.
    That way you can get your 10+ years out of your 10 boxes of blades...
