NEW Feather Professional Artist club SS Black | eBay
$73.30 non folding SS shipped from Japan
Not sure about customs charges but I bought 200 blades from the same buyer at $88.80USD to UK and wasn't charged any custom charges.
I paid $169.90USD for a folding DX from the same buyer and was charged approximatley $45 for custom charges

Thanked: 1Hmm. Well I stopped by the place to see if they had any and go figure they didn't. I'll have to order this online. It just makes more sense in the long run as I can travel much easier with this one and get disposables wherever I may be unlike the feather. If I ever do get a feather, that will more than likely become my main razor, but I really want to get my straight razor honed first and see how it works. Then the feather could be the sub in for those woke up to late shaves or while the straight is off getting honed.

Thanked: 1Just an update and basically close out of this thread. I bought the DOVO shavette and it came with the long blade. First of all, wow I had an actual smooth shave this morning. Very glad I got this. Once this blade runs its course, which I assume that since I have to shave 5 days a week, one blade will last that long, I'll use the shorter one to see how it feels and works since that is most likely what I'll be limited to if I travel. Two, because of how well it shaved, this just verifies the need for me to get my straight honed. I definitely recommend this Shavette.

Thanked: 270What I learned from experience is that I can't become proficient with the shavette unless I use it all the time.
What I would do is buy a Parker shavette from razorbladesandmore.com for $20 and see if the shavette is for you. I tried the Dovo shavette and it was harder for me to use than the Parker. I was able to use the Dovo after practicing with the Parker for a while. If you like the Parker, then graduate to the Feather. If not, have enough straights on hand to always have one shave ready.
I can't get great results with the shavette unless I stay in practice, and I enjoy true straights too much to get that practice.
If economics is a problem, I would learn how to hone straights myself and keep enough on hand to always have a few ready. I decided to hone my own straights or not straight shave at all. I can get satisfactory shaves with a DE or SE.
