Default Inconsistent shaves with Dovo Shavette

I do have a number of shavettes in the rotation ,but the one that I can't seem to get consistent with Us the Dovo.
I seem to get one great shave & if I use it again the follow ing shave I seem to have issues with getting a comfortable shave.
I don't have any problems with my sanguine shavettes, or my sedef & Parker razors.
I am beginning to think that it's Just me & the Dovo that don't get on.
I do seem to get some blade chatter with the Dovo .
Maybe it's the plastic blade bolder that doesn't hold the blade as firmly as the sanguine & the sedef.
Has anyone else had this problem.
    Cheers Paul

I don't own a dovo but have experienced the same issue your having with a couple of my traditional straights. I came to the conclusion that it just wasn't the right razor for me an sent them on their way. As far as shavettes go I own a dreadnought an two feathers. All are very consistent with quality shaves. Sounds like you have a good selection of better shavers to pick from. If things don't tend to get any better with the dovo I would pass it on. Good luck.

I have heard of a lot of folks that complain of the insert-style blade holders not holding blades tightly enough and that can easily lead to issue. The clamp style, such as the Parker is very tight and would lead to greater consistency than one that would allow the blade to move whole shaving.

I have a Dovo shavett myself and the only blades that work well with it are the long ones made by Dovo. The smaller blades for DE razors just will not fit properly. Unfortunately it only came with on of the large blades and refills are hard to find locally, I have to buy them online and I'm not a fan of that.
