Some more info on the IBC compared to the Feather DX razor

The head is somewhere between that of the DX and Feather SS in, blade exposure is the same (here with a super pro blades in both). Face feel with the IBC is a bit more like with the SS and might just require a little less precaution when shaving then the DX. But please remember I've used the DX for years so it's not fair to make a real review so soon of the IBC, so far I like it, I really do. Weight of the razor is 55 grams.

If you want to compare with other shavettes here are some weights:

    15g Tondeo Ergo/CRP Sifter Ergo

I was going to ask for a feather for Christmas but I think I'll ask for one or these.

On second thought I will wait till someone sells one on ebay or a BST/Classifieds.

The price of shipping was $46 USD on top of an extra $20 USD for the razor having to be sent out of Conus. That's the same price as the razor..

    Nuck Fo!

Being from Australia I'm used to high shipping prices, but that is just insane!

Wonder what the rationale for the extra $20 is...

As I understand it they are currently looking for distributors in Europe to avoid the high shipping costs.

Snuff I'm just north across the border and shipping is far overpriced and that extra $20 for it going out of the state's is bs.

At that price why not get a feather dx and call it a day.

@S0LITARYS0LDIER: I agree that the shipping costs are way too high at the moment, I receive a lot of packages from the US and the shipping costs for those are well below that. They are looking for distributors as to avoid that. ps. I already have a few DX's :-)

I went to their web page and it doesn't say what the razor is made of. I have to admit I am a sucker for new shaving items. Just got a new Feather DX for a present and sold my Kai Captain. Bought a Mongoose and now this. Amazing it can use any blade. The video looks like you need to be very careful loading and unloading a blade. The cost isn't any more then the Kai Captain or Feather SS. Looks like another new product coming up. Once I get one I'll review. Snuff, thank you for bringing this new razor to us and your review.

Just got my Irving razor. Comes in a nice wood box. Appears to be made well. It takes a half DE better then a SE blade. Haven't shaved with it but this isn't for me. I prefer my Feather DX. Will be putting this in the classified for $55.
