    Default Snapping DE Blades

    Guys

When you snap your DE blade for your shavette do you find the points where it snapped cause the blade to not sit in the shavette completely flat and makes it hard putting it back together?

    Any way round this?

    Regards

You can cut the blade in half, kitchen shears work well if they are tight.

It depends on the type of shavette - but I always found that bit of tab/bend helped hold the blade secure, like a spring action.

And whatever you do, mind that edge...

Not sure which type of shavette you're using, but for my Parker SR1 I've found that the bent part of the blade is lower than the pins that hold it in alignment so I've never had that problem. Also, the metal was springy enough that the two halves of the shavette flattened the blade out anyway.

As for a solution, I'd support using good pair of scissors as well, seems like the simplest way to do it.

I have seen some tools for the purpose. Two handles with a hinge device. I cannot say how well they would work. Anyone?

    I rest my case.
