Aloha!
It's been three years since I started this thread. Two years ago I ordered a long blade Shavette from China (via Aliexpress) called the
XYP Straight Razor with Cloud Blades. This razor also goes by various other names including Strong Leopard 77-A. I paid $8.00 and that included shipping and 20 Cloud blades.
With the included Cloud blades I liked this out of the box. Nice balanced feel, and long enough blade to mimic my straight razors. After two years I still cut myself on occasion, but it's no where near as bad as the regular razor blade Shavettes that I own. I liked the Cloud blades so much I ordered more. But honestly, you are better off just ordering a new Shavette and blades from AliExpress for a lower cost than the blades themselves.
My next Shavette will probably be the Feather Non Folding Shavette as mentioned in the previous post above. But the last two years have been better on the "nick and cut front" with this razor than when I was using a regular DE blade Shavette.
FWIW, I seem to cut myself frequently with a Shavette on either side of my nose between nose and lip about 1 inch outside where my nose ends. I probably have bad technique that the Straight razor is forgiving at that angle/area whereas the Shavette just cuts me to show me who's boss.Last edited by ZipZop; 08-15-2020 at 01:54 PM.

I have the feather ss in the kamisori styld and the folding style. I like the folder more. And with the feather pro blades i get one of the best feeling and closest shaves ive ever had. I enjoy ine a lot and use it often. Sure its going to cost you more than the china thing for 8 bucks but it works perfectly in my opinion.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Absolutely it will be worth it. Cost is not an issue. I bought the Chinese option only to see if I would enjoy using a Shavette that simulated a straight razor more than the standard DE Shavettes, and also to see if I could actually do a Shavette shave without cutting myself. Then my career got the best of me and I have not been able to focus on any hobbies or passions for the last few years. It's now time to relax a bit and refocus on wet shaving and my other hobbies.
I'll probably purchase a Feather in the next week or two. Thanks for the input."I get some lather and lather-up, then I get my razor and shave! Zip Zop, see that? My face Is ripped to shreads!"
