Default HHT, not worthless to me anymore!

Last night I was shaving and noticed my goatee was a little shaggy, so I started toward my clippers when I had a thought.

This razor is pretty sharp and I know it was tree-topping arm hairs with no tug during the honing session. I decided to use a regular hair comb and my straight to trim my beard...and it worked very well.

While I certainly agree that the shave test is best if your intended purpose is to shave, the HHT might not be a bad idea if you intend to trim your beard with the blade

    YMMV

Back in the 1960s the "razor cut" was a hot item in barber shops. They charged a buck or two more for a haircut but it was supposed to be the "in thing." My barber, when I was maybe 14 and 15 used to start with scissors and finish with the razor and clippers. I used to think that was so cool.

They did razor cuts in the 80s too. I never got one but I recall some girls that did.

We see a fair amout of Roffler razors for sale. Usually smaller blades made in France and Germany. I even was given a Roffler strop! I did a bit of digging and found that Roffler was a hairdresser who pioneered razor cuts back in the day. He had a school and a string of franchised salons as well. The razors and strops were given to the ladies at the "Hair Shop" where I get my hair cut. No, they don't use them but like them as displays.
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
    I rest my case.

Believe Audrey Hepburn had a razor cut, but could be wrong. That would have been way before the 80's more like the 60's.
I used to go to a barber who did razor cuts as well prob in the 90's

I've got a razor cut, but I think it is slightly different to what you guys are talking about.
