Thanked: 247The back of my neck
Simply put, I noticed the back of my neck getting fuzzy, so I tried it. To my surprise it was pretty easy with a straight.
Anyone else do this?
My only problem is getting it straight and even. Does anyone have any tips for this?

id imagine looking into a small mirror with the big mirror behind you would work for those straightness lines , im never that trim so i just feel with the razor where the hair starts to get thick and go down towards my shoulders to remove those long hairs or the fuzzy stuff while im watching tv or honing a razor ( just dry , no soap/cream) and it cleans up pretty nice !

Thanked: 67Yes, I've tried this a few times, just cutting it off dry. Easier than I expected as well.
I haven't found any way to get it even, though

Thanked: 284I have my wife use my straight. She does a good job.
I'm training her for the day I become an invalid, I can still enjoy a straight razor shaveI love living in the past...

Thanked: 634Yes. When I give myself a haircut I wrap a thin belt around my neck from ear to ear. This gives me a straight line to follow with the razor.

Thanked: 247Good point, I won't be seeing it, so who cares? OTOH, why shave it then?
I like the belt suggestion, I may try that.

No word of a lie - I had a roommate who would get a long, fat, piece of masking tape, place it "correctly" in the mirror and then as edhewitt says... hoe in!
Worked for him.
Personally, I just go to my gal and ask her to clean me up between hair-cuts. She does it for free and is way better company than me, myself, and I.David
