Default Hold tight to that razor!

Not much to say here. Had a great shave, not a nick or cut, and was cleaning out the scales with a piece of toilet paper. I didn't have a hold of the blade, just the scales and the razor slipped. Hopefully the last time I make that mistake......

I've said it many times before, the worst straight razor cuts I've had have been on my fingers, not my face.

A fat pipe cleaner is probably safer than tissue. Either way, one must be careful.

One of the first things I tell people, never ever hold it in only by the scales, it might just become o little but very sharp guillotine!

Try a little shaving alum. It comes in blocks just for shavers. One block wil last years. Just wet your fingers and wipe them on the alum. It will create non-slip grip. I use when I shave too.

I always secure the razor by the tang as my main hold point. More out of fear I might drop my precious razors than for cutting myself, but I have on occasion come awfully close to closing one on fingers. Heal fast mate.

And if you get any trace of alum on the tang of the razor,or anywhere on the the blade,it wil turn the steel black in a heartbeat,be carefull
