Been shaving with a DE for a number of years and have dabbled in str8s off and on for about three. Chin gives me trouble with both (DEs and str8s). I blade buff my DE over my chin to get BBS (sideways under the chin)....have no idea how to do that with a str8 so every shave I have a strip right under my chin that needs a DE. I'm ok with this as I get to still use my other toys

This morning, I tried a bit of a different approach on my chin. Normally, I have the edge straight down and use a slicing motion left-right. This morning, I had the edge at an angle closer to 45 degrees relative to the floor and used a slicing motion up-down. It was the easiest WTG pass I've had on my chin, razor just slides through the whiskers with no resistance at all.

What I tried was using a 4/8 blade to get into those tough spots. It seems that the smaller straight can "negotiate" those little crooks and nannys (for lack of a technical term) better than a full straight. After I got the hang of it I went back to my full-sized blades.
