Thanked: 247A little slip
I have been shaving long enough now that slips and mistakes are fairly rare, but...well...I "decided" to change my beard up a bit yesterday
I have been wearing a Van Dyke for a bit over a year, but yesterday I shaved and was trimming the margins when I slipped and removed a fairly large amount of hair in my upper chin.
I should be thrilled that it was hair and not skin!
So anyway, I guess I'm now going to sport some handlebars (possibly curled if I can find a wax I like) with a reduced chin puff.
With Halloween around the corner, I guess this will give me a proper villain or pirate look

Thanked: 1184I sport a handle bar. At first I used to just trim it so the natural curl did all the work. It was shorter but I never had to mess with it. Now it goes wild if I don't wax it a little. I usually put some of the tube wax on (drug store brand) when I finish shaving, comb it even and shape it. It will generally dry and stay that way. I am not crazy about the sharp as a pencil twisted look for myself. Think wild man not gentleman. :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 12+1 to Firehouse. its my exclusive use wax. you can do the tightly twirled Snidely Whiplash or to get a more natural look that still holds just put it in twist it up then run a comb through.
