Thiers-Issard 5/8 Eagle w/ Snakewood Scales
After owning this razor for awhile, I thought, I have the entire house to myself, going to watch a good movie. Need to shave, so after 3 months, I finally, for the first time, decided to shave with the TI Eagle:
Truly the best shave I've had, needless to say a brand new razor, never used and freshly honed is always going to be a good experience, and this felt like it shaved me! No tug or pull, did 2 mixed passes, WTG, XTG and ATG and the razor skated over my beard, total BBS shave.
If ever there is a lesson in this, is that when starting out in this art, the difference between joy and frustration lies in the state of your blade. A freshly honed razor made shave ready, is a truly awesome experience.

Thanked: 1195She is a looker, indeed. Congrats
The only question I have is how the hell did you wait 3 months to use her? When I get a new toy I use it ASAP

Hahaha...well, I had it in my head that I wanted to complete 100 shaves with my starter DOVO 5/8th and these 2 4/8th Pall Mall Wilkinson's razors I got from E-bay. I figured it would take that long to become familiar with my face, the razor, and acquire some good practive before moving to a brand new razor, especially a nice one.
Then, every time I was going to use it, it was like, "Naaa...what if I drop it!?! I'll just use the Pall Mall!" Went through that several times (3 months of this), so tonight, alone in the house, I figured there was no excuse...and it was great!
Now, for next shave, I'll bust out the brand new TI 6/8th Spartacus w/ faux MOP scales that I haven't used either!
Cheers!Last edited by Phrank; 09-15-2013 at 12:14 AM.
