Thanked: 1You know, all these people who're convinced you'll somehow decapitate yourself by shaving with a straight: they're the best argument I can think of for shaving with straights. There are way too many pathetic ninnies in the world today. Shaving with a straight is one small way to take a stand against the slow decline of Western civilization. Or at least that's going to be my story from now on.

Thanked: 983Never understood the head removal argument with cut-throats...I mean, I stop doing something at the first sign of pain or blood, and I think there would be a lot of pain and blood even before I managed to remove my head...

I think all the "oh my God!" reactions, especially from 'men', is just a sad commentary on the decline of manhood and the loss of the idea that life can sometimes be risky and that a man profits by overcoming obstacles and challenges. Today's beta-males and girly men who were raised to be wimps who could never make a fist have, sadly, become the norm. More and more, public schools treat masculinity as something that needs to be punished, ostracized, and eliminated. I see these ridiculuous home security system commercials where the scary crook in the hoody kicks in the door and the girly 'man' hides behind his wife instead of acting like a man with something to defend. It's pathetic.

Well, the truth is men have been sold a bill of goods. I began with a DE many years ago, then tried every "innovation/improvement" up until I started with a SR again. Once I did, I bought a DE and some decent blades for my "I'm in a hurry" shave. And what did I discover? In fact it was that I get a better shave with a DE than I ever have with any of the other product lines over the years. So, I wish I still had my Gillette adjustable DE which I threw out when I went to injector, Trac II and 2 or 3 iterations of cartridges. Life is funny sometimes.
Merry Christmas!
