    Default The Shave Parade

Well, it's been quite awhile since I combined a hot shower, hot scuttle, hot lather, all the prep to have a Shave Parade.

    I blame, and thank, Ryan82!

The other day, I mentioned I had a scuttle and didn't really see how it fit in? I mean, I cold shave, scuttle's just taking up potential razor space!?!

So Ryan mentioned that one could load the brush, and after getting the scuttle nice and hot, including the brush, build a hot / warm lather in the scuttle and there you go, your own scuttle in action.

So I tried this, and the shave was superb!!

So today, I thought, let us return to our roots and have a shave parade in the bathroom....scuttle included!! So, after all the fixens were complete, including opening and trying a Williams sample of pre-shave, think my eyes are still watering from that!!! Holy menthol or eucalyptus Razor Man!!!

So, in the end, I ended up somewhat nauseous, I hate really hot showers, my eyes watering from the pre-shave sample to the point where I feel I've been pepper sprayed, and got no different a shave, really, than I do when I cold shave.

But, there is always learning...and I've decided I like the hot / warm lather in the scuttle, so that will now be added to the now somewhat cold shave.

Hopefully, after I stood outside in the 2 Degree Celsius strong wind, with the steam billowing off me, I'll make a coffee and sit down and write this...

    Cheers!

gssixgun, Ryan82 and pfries like this.

Hehe... Glad you're liking it Phrank

It sounds like you've hit the peak when you can get great shaves, whether hot or cold - this is when personal preference takes over. I tried the cold shave method and it worked well, but I soon yearned for my nice warm lather and never looked back. You'll eventually be in the same predicament and will have to make a choice too!
