Recently I have just been passing my straight over a 12k barbers hone then straight to the strop and it too feels buttery smooth. I have tried the crox pastes on a balsa but didn't see much of a difference. Do you think more passes on the leather stop produce the same buttery edge?

I haven't tried going straight from hone to strop. But, I go first to diamond paste on balsa to crox on a suede covered paddle strop, then to a hanging strop. It feels as smooth as silk to my face. I feel that after a point, more stropping doesn't make the edge smoother. The canvas/leather only does so much.

Are you continually honing or periodic honing? Which pastes do you use?
