Thanked: 0what to get next
Well its been a long time learning had a face that looked like freddy kruger for a week . in the 11 months since using a straight i have bought a naniwa 12k very nice, the sticker a real pain in the arse to get off .The first straight was 6/8 dovo blonde .
i also bought 6/8 kings crown extra hollow ground with nice scales from an vintage shop . I thought it shaved very well doesnt keep an edge very long but smooth .
Then well got a real urge took the plunge and bought a Heljestrand MK30 4/8 did not realize how tiny it was but a few strokes on 12k then diamond wow what a shave. so what do i need now to go that extra mile 16k or 30k shapton all advise welcome .
i have also have found the best soaps which work for me being MWF. Tabac. palmolive stick .tried arko it went in the bin

Thanked: 4827There are heavy grinds to try, and natural hones. If nothing is speaking to you perhaps you could be content until something does.

Thanked: 1195At this point you're at the crossroad between a way of shaving and a full blown hobby. You can keep your razors sharp and shaving comfortably with a Naniwa 12k indefinitely, though a 4k/8k would come in handy. I stopped there myself, but then again I was never really a rock hound.
If you're leaning towards being a hobbyist then the sky's the limit. Razors, hones, strops, pastes, soaps, creams, aftershaves, colognes, scuttles, brushes - the list is endless, ultimately though the decision will be up to your wallet.... and your significant other

Thanked: 0Hello again after a year things have been going well bought a shapton 16k and I treated myself to suehiro 20k for Xmas and birthday . And wow I have reached the point now a superb shave goes well with mwf can't get better , it's been a good 2.5 years of learning .
I don't have enough razors so if any uk members would like me to hone there razor not ones that need bevel settings just refresh , I don't call myself a expert but jam more then happy to start at 8k and work up to 20k shuhiro no cost just pay postage return .

Definitely time for a 1/4 or 1/2 grind razor. Expand your horizons

One of each of the respectable manufacturers then a custom razor.
That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!
All I have to do is point at the the shoe boxes! It's a dog eat dog world and I have on milk bone underwear.
