I have a couple of cuts like that on my right index finger that I got while sanding non-sharp blades (overshot the blade sanding with my right hand, causing the blade to slip while being held in the left hand and slice the right index finger). Luckily, none of those blades were close to shave-ready sharp. Even when somewhat dull, the blades left good gashes that bled quite a bid. I cringe at the thought of what a shave ready heavy wedge would do.

Quite Right! Most of my Ah Craps have happened while I wasn't paying attention to where the razor was!
As far as the difference between the damage between a Wedge and a Hollow Grind, I'll take the wedge over my son's 8/8 Friodur! Especially if when the initial pain was felt and I would 'jerk' causing more of a slicing motion! But there again, to each their own!
Anyway, heal up and get those pins tightened and just learn from the Aw Crap!
