    Default Jaw Shaving

What is the best method for shaving the jaw line and under the nose? I'm not getting very close either place.

    Hi Bujinkan,

To get the jaw line (if I'm understanding you correctly), I reach over my head and pull the skin up, so what was below my jaw line is now above it. After shaving, it drops back down. I recently added a regularly scheduled against the grain pass (up the neck and just over the jaw line) and this picks up anything I may have missed.

I'm still grappling with shaving the upper lip and under the nose. I can get it reasonably close, but have not been able to take it to the next level. I've seen a lot of good tips here, but haven't been able to make anything work just right yet. I think this is one of those areas that really require us to find our own way.

I'm sure others will chime in with useful info that will give you some new techniques to try. Keep at it.

Jodans chin line response is just how I do it. The under the nose requires two passes for me, one down withe grain and one up against the grain. To get that I hold my upper lip taunt with my lower lip and go up against the grain. Works for me "naked upperlip"

I think the jawline is one of those places you have to work out for yourself.

I can get BBS under my nose by doing a downward, with the grain pass followed by an across the grain pass. I relather after the WTG pass, grab the skin near the corner of my mouth and stretch it away from my lips. Then I do the XTG stroke inward toward the line under my nose. I reach across for this, so the right hand shaves the left side and vice versa. I haven't had much luck doing an upward against the grain stroke, but others need it.

Don't even think of trying that without having READ THIS FIRST and please come to discuss it before trying anything like it.

For the jaw line, pulling the skin up from the sideburn for both the down pass and the cross path works fine and as you get more comfortable with the up stroke from the neck to the jaw, you'll find that you actually pick up any left over on this stroke. The problem is that you really need to develop the feel for this stroke, but it will come with time, patience and practice.
