    I'm tempted to finally throw mine out because it hasn't seen use in years. However I get the sneaky suspicion that if I did toss it I would find sudden use for it the very next shave LOL

    I was going to write something similar (although it's months rather than years for me) but then thought I had best not tempt fate.

    It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
    This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

    My new styptic is a cold water rinse and witch hazel splash. Styptics and alum blocks are hard to beat when you get started with wet shaving, though. I always preferred the gel.
