I do a lot of work in the shower.. Face for long time in hot spray, sometimes face scrub or hair conditioner. That is where I spend my prep time.

Thanked: 324I spend my prep time in the shower, too. Then it's a couple minutes tops. Soon as I dry off enough to not drip all over the floor, I've got my scuttle filled, my brush soaked with hot water and I'm ready to lather up. 10 minutes in the shower beats any alternative prep I've tried.

Thanked: 0I spend a couple of minutes making lather in my "trailer park" warming scuttle (a couple of Corningware "French White" pieces nested together, with hot water in the bottom piece), hop in the shower for about 5 minutes. Then out of the shower, Proraso pre-shave, strop, lather up (mmm, warm lather) which takes about another 2 minutes, and then shave. So, maybe 10 minutes, including the shower.

prep
Hello all,
I joined today and this is my first post but I've been using a feather razor for several months now. I've watched Lynns video several times and was wondering what the purpose was of lathering after the hot towel and applying a hot towel again over the lather. If I'm not shaving after the shower I use a hot towel for 2-3 minutes, apply art of shaving pre-shave oil, lather up, and shave. I have a pretty tough beard and I get razor bumps pretty easily so I've started just doing one pass. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I first strop the razor shower and shave. Prep time included while taking a shower to soften beard with water

I usually shave right after a shower or bath. If I'm bathing I'll often apply some conditioner or Prorasso pre-shave while I'm soaking. If showering, nothing special.
Then off to the shave.
If no shower or bath, I just shave.
