Thread: !st stones arrived -- Gotta love Straight Razor Designs!

Ordered on May 1...arrive on the eastern edge of the US in Nags Head, NC today (May 5)...with a weekend in there. They never disappoint!

Now to get to work on my first ever attempt (maybe I'll watch some more videos first). FYI -- Naniwa 12k and DMT 325 for lapping!

You might want to consider giving that DMT a breaking in before you hit the 12k with it.

Break it in how? A kitchen knife or another razor shaped object?

I've read where some guys use the shaft of an old screw driver. I use an old hard Arkansas, that my grandfather used years ago.

does that 12K have the stand attached? doesn't look like it in the pic

You made the right choice all the way around. Approach, Decision, Execution, Enthusiasm. I promise, you're going to love this stone. So fine and so forgiving(easy for beginners).

Yes Boarder, the stand is there, just a cell phone picture doesn't show it. The DMT is actually leaning on the end of the 12k's stand.
