Thanked: 0Never judge a razor by its scales!
I bought a cheap straight razor from e-bay about 2 years ago. Shortly after receiving the razor the scale cracked and a piece chipped off. Since then I have improved my honing and stropping skills. So today I honed the razor and stropped it.
I had the best shave ever!! I cannot believe it! The razor is a "Knapp & spading company, Sioux City" made in Germany. The blade is tarnished and scales need to be replaced.
The real issue is how to get my other newer razors to shave this nice…

My very old, very ugly Bengall was one of the best shaves I've had. It still shaves great after about 6 goes.
Books and covers.
