Most expensive=favorite? No, not really.
I have a Zowada Carbon Series which is an outstanding razor and I like it a ton.
Must say though that I somewhat prefer the performance of my Boker Silver Steel (about 1/3 what the Zowada cost).

Thanked: 734How do you pick a favorite? As I look over my collection, there are many that could be given that title on any given day. My Wade & Butcher FBU near wedge is wonderful. It hones up so nicely, taking such a great edge. Its fantastically sharp but delivers a really smooth shave as it plows through stubble like it isn't even there. Plus its been restored to look great but still has years and years of history behind it. Then I look again and see my Bengall hand forged. Its hollow ground and has a simple elegant look. It too takes on a magnificent edge. And speaking of great edges, the Filarmonica Muleta I recently got that came NOS took on an edge that made it live up to its reputation. It shaves so well. But there are also my two Revisors. These are new razors but their steel feels like vintage steel. Its not extremely hard steel like some other new razors. They hone up very nicely, look great, and shave well. Then there are my Friodurs. I don't think I have any other razors I own that require so little maintenance. Once they are honed up, they seem to hold their edge forever. I love my Eiko for its uniqueness. Not only does it seem to get surgically sharp but its has a unique shape and grind. Then there is my Eirene. I love it because it seems to exude class. Full hollow, no stabilizer, three pin design, and it was really the first GOOD razor I purchased. There's no way to choose a favorite but there is one thing that all of my favorites have in common and that's that they are capable of really great edges. Some razors fight you. Sometimes you have to negotiate a decent edge with them that can be as drawn out as negotiating peace talks. My favorites are the ones that make me look like an expert.

Thanked: 4830My most expensive razor is not my most valuable, nor is it my favorite razor. I have one that stands out far beyond all the others. It is an old, but not anywhere near my oldest razor, JA Henckels 6/8 half hollow. Its take a wicked edge. I shave with it periodically, for special events, and if I'm feeling a little nostalgic. It was purchased new by my great-grandfather, I have had it for 34 years.

I love shaving with my chopped ERN ATOR (such a sweet edge!), but I have no idea of what its monetary value would be.
Although I haven't shaved with it yet, my 8/8ths Wade & Butcher Celebrated will no doubt be my most expensive razor when Glen finishes working on it.When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others.
It's the same when you are stupid.

My favorite is not my most valuable. It's a Red Dot Razor that just shaves perfectly.
