Lots of men (and women) have asked me about talking to their spouse about shaving -it's a big and important question in getting support from your partner, in shaving and with other things. Unfortunately I am divorced, but looking back I wonder if my complaints about multiblade/cartridge razor shaving and avoiding it when I possibly could was the "influence" factor you are talking about. Perhaps I am the one that discouraged the shaving habit.
Now I am really excited about straight razor shaving and sometimes travel with a DE razor, so today I would be very positive about the experience.
