Just a thought
My befuddled and fuzzy brain finally cleared the other day when after watching the umpteenth video of barbers shaving clients I had a belated aha! moment. Not in every barber video, but in a number of them, they start the shave with an AGT on the neck. So, I thought, other than maybe it was the easiest stroke to do first for the barber, or was, maybe, this: I have found that my neck hair is coarser than the rest of my face. Since I strop before I shave my edge is at it's sharpest, so why don't I shave he tough areas first. Tried it this morning and my neck has not been that close a shave since I had peach fuzz instead of bristles. Did an ATG on my neck, did the face as usual and on second pass a WTG on the neck and what ever's needed on my face. I am very pleased with the outcome still, three hours later.

Thanked: 4826I don't know why but I have gone ATG first on my neck for a while, sometimes it's the only pass on my neck.

I usually start on my neck, roughly north to south(give or take) which is loosely XTG. It just seems sensible to get it out of the way first.

I tried it this morning, stropped the razor and shaved the neck ATG before attacking the other parts of my face. The shave was definitely different considering the fact that it was counter intuitive to the normal shaving routine I have become accustomed to after 30 years of shaving. All that aside, it was a huge improvement over what it has been in the past.

I still consider my self a newbie, and I have one spot on my neck that I get a good shave but not BBS. I tried it this morning, and it worked very well, I got BBS!!!!!! I have sensitive skin so I will have to do be careful not to irritation by going ATG first, but I am going to keep trying this. Thanks again for the post.
