Thanked: 0No, guys it certainly won't hinder me at all. The razor I used was good and sharp after being stropped on the paddle board with some 1/2 diamond paste then on to the leather strop. I actually got a pretty decent shave. Last time I pretty thoroughly butchered my face, LOL!! But I've learned that the more I use the SR the better my shaves...imagine that. The main problem I have is time. To get a good shave with a SR it takes some time. Time to prep both the SR (stropping) and your face (steaming the face and keeping it wet, wet, wet).
Through the work week I have little time in the mornings, even getting up at 5:00 AM. So...sometimes I have to shave with my Mach III, DE, or God forbid.........an electric razor. So my SR shaving is relegated to the weekends. But I do enjoy SR shaving. I enjoy the challenge of getting one sharp and keeping it that way. If I haven't been SR shaving for a while I'll sometimes have to skip a day to let my skin recover from some nicks, scrapes, or burns. But, as I said, if I've been "practicing" I don't get nicks and such. It is fun though, I must admit.
