Seems like razors are going to start getting popular.
This is the third article in like a week I have read about shaving from a non shaving site.

Interesting that after taking to the straight shave he still opted for the DE for speed. What is 10 minutes of sleep? I will trade that for razor care and a straight shave any day

@JTmke - when I switched to straights I just started shaving the evening before vs the morning. The shave is so much closer I have no problem making it all the way to the following evening without noticeable growth.

It seems that article from a non-shaving site is decent. However, it seems he got his straight from a non-shaving site as well.

I'm with sharpton - this comes off as one of the more "engaged" articles about the subject.
Now getting the cost per SR shave down to the level he suggests ($3.65/year) would require the self-control of the mythical "Two razor Bob" (with two low cost - serviceable razors, a strop, a barbers hone and a Crox strop or paddle, Williams or Arko and a lonely boar brush of questionable parentage) Since he does not cover soap/cream let's assume that this was not part of the equation - just the blade.
I still like the article...thanks for sharing.Support Movember!

I hope like hell that they don't become popular, I want the prices to come down. It would be nice if the only person I had to fight over a chopper was Phrank, I think I could take him in a free-for-all.

I think he captured a large part of by mentioning that he enjoyed the time doing it, that it was akin to making and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
He also mentioned that the shave lasted longer, which is definitely true. A good 3 pass straight shave will do me fine for shaving every other day, no problem. Other aspect, he didn't mention that chemical garbage that passes as canned shaving foam, which is expensive, and contains stuff that just isn't that great for your skin. I find the different soaps very beneficial to the skin and also, again, adds to the enjoyment.
But ultimately, for me, it is the sheer enjoyment of using vintage straight razors, new and old recipe soaps and aftershaves, and turning a mundane task into something that's truly enjoyable, and why not? As he say's, in this day and age, I can't think of a better way to set the tone of the day than starting it off with a nice shave.
