No problem as long as you keep the rotation angle reasonable.

I could never figure out what any of those strokes are that guys say that you use. (The only J strike I know is used in a canoe. I'd never try that one on a face.)
The only strokes I use are short, very short, about an inch, believe some call it buffing.
Only thing I chg is the angle. Different angles of WTG, XTG and ATG.

It doesnt really matter how you get there as long as the journey is enjoyable

Thanks all. Scything is what I was talking about. Larry calls it slicing, but at no time does the blade ever move in a direction parallel to the blade, such as when cutting an onion or carrot. It's more like a 45 degree slant to the perpendicular cut.

I call it "windshield wiper" stroke and yes, I use it on my neck....pivot end held still and "wipe"...

I think you are describing more of a scything action. And yes it is effective, especially in combination with a smiling blade.
    +1 Well said

I have an area under my jawline that requires a wiper blade stroke. It works well but I use a shorter smaller blade for this area and it requires finesse

Thanks but I left out that it also requires some serious skin stretching to get that area BBS
