    Default When is enough enough?

Looking thru the increasingly larger rotation due to a serious case of RAD the other day and had to wonder when is a rotation too big? I 've been fortunate enough to have collected some really nice razors over the years and really haven't spent that much money considering what razors are going for these days. Been lucky in finding boxes of parts razors for restores that were in amazing shape ( still have fifty or so waiting to become whole again. Yet I still use the same two or three for regular shaving and they really aren't big name or fancy they just feel good. Need to thin the herd and just can't make myself part with the big choppers, the DD's, Henckels, etc. Man it's like selling your kids but you know you probably won't use them more than occasionally. Anybody took the leap and paired down to say two of your best or am I dreaming ?

I don't have multitudes as some, but I do have 15 that are just what I like and I can't part with any. Even though it is way to many to actually use them all on a regular basis , so no enough is not enough. Good luck. Tc

Yes.... I own 3 straight razors, a pair that get "rotated" back and forth and have been for a few months and a family heirloom, my Great Great Grandfather's W&B he brought from Liverpool in 1858. I have sold or PIF'd all my others.

    The hell you say!!!!
I love them all, from the vintage Sheffield's to the no-name rust buckets. There all equally cherished and loved. To think of getting rid of even one is unthinkable.
Oh and by the way I'm up to about 160 now.
    Yes I have a problem.
    Har!!!

i've got about 15 to 20, and i am having a hard time getting rid of any of them, but i feel guilty that i'm not spending quality time with all of them. maybe it's time to put some up for adoption.

I haven't had this problem with razors yet (only own about 20...so far....), but I do have this problem with carving chisels of which I may 300 or more even though I really only use about 10 for regular carving. So if I haven't used a certain chisel for two or more years I either pif to someone, trade it, or sell it to a good home. The first sell was emotional tough, but using the money to help buy a nice hand plane eased the suffering
I'm sure at some point I will have to do this with razors as well.
