Have you improved any? I am watching this with interest as this stage is not to far off for me. My hair grows in all directions so this could be a bit of a problem. Before I do attempt this I may decide to send out my Kropp for a touch up to ensure the sharpness.

Thanked: 16Depending on your skin and beard, there may be parts of our face where you just can't go ATG without irritation, even if your razor is shave ready and your technique is good. For those parts, you may want to consider doing two XTG passes in opposite directions.

Experience has taught me that full hollow blades have to much flex for ATG shaving on my beard. A heavier blade with a 1/4 or 1/2 hollow grind works better for me.

Thanked: 23I've found that 'tugging' is subjective. My whiskers are fairly coarse so ATG passes produce more 'resistance' but not necessarily 'tugging'. It's hard to differentiate at first. Once you get some experience with a sharp razor you'll learn how much resistance your whiskers give and will be able to adjust.

Thanked: 6I thought my blade was a little dull as well until I tried atg with a shavette and feather blade. Same tugging and resistance and this leads to tons of cutting. Maybe I haven't mastered the skin stretching yet as said above but I am trying until I succeed but it sure is a slow learning path lol
