Default It had to happen sometime....I cut myself.

I had my first straight shave almost six months ago and I hadn't cut myself once... until yesterday. I'm not talking about nicks. I've had a few of those here and there. I'm talking about the kind of cut that only comes from moving a three inch open blade around my face. Luckily it's not too bad, just a 1/4 inch, shallow slice on my left ear. I've gotten a little more confident and a lot faster at shaving lately and I guess a little careless too. I was shaving along and I felt the razor touch my ear, no pain just a touch. Then I saw a little blood and I knew it was a cut, so I broke out the styptic and just kept on shaving. So no more damage than a little mark. Still, I have a nice gentle reminder to be carefull and WATCH what I'm doing from now on!

Heh, yep. That's where the wall is. Make sure you don't run into it again.

Nicks come and go, but the memory of your first "real" cut with a "real" razor is one that lasts. I remember mine. I nicked myself fairly regularly, but on vacation in Florida with the fiancee (girlfriend at the time) and her family, I was shaving, and I heard a noise, pulled the blade, and there it was, a nice 3/8 inch cut on the left side of my neck. It's the first cut that wouldn't stop with styptic. I really learned something then, take the styptic into the bathroom when on vacation, don't leave it in the bedroom. It happens to everyone eventually.
