Still relatively new my self, don't think I made it 10 shaves before I knew the edge was gone. Had several razors that were honed by other members (Thanks) so I kept on doing what I was doing. 10 laps on felt 25 on leather post shave 25/50 pre shave. Worked on technique. Still dulled razors up.
I read many posts about life of the edge and learned many things. More stropping. Changed my pre shave to 50/100, the shaves were notably smoother, blade life was same. I had three razors that were honed by the same member, I used them till they dulled and stropped them as if I was about to shave with them.
I sent them to be honed by the same member with a note asking him to look at them before he started and give me his impressions. He did. It seemed I was not level in stropping. I was being rough on the heels.
I began to analyze what was happening. I quickly noticed the height I had my strop hanging was too high. I was allowing my elbow to drop causing the uneven strokes. Lowered my mounting point and kept my focus on flat immediately improved blade life and shave quality.
The information is here and I have learned it is as simple as I want to keep it.

Thanked: 3215Ken, what is on the felt?
Why, felt if not pasted/sprayed?
If using the felt as a linen strop, to clean, do 10, then 100 on leather.
Felt if used with too much pressure, as you were, can roll the edge. Felt is great for sprays.
Linen or nylon/poly may give better results for cleaning prior to leather.
